Integral to this project is a passive, 3,000 bottle wine cellar, not dependent on power to maintain temperature. An open floor plan and bright new kitchen are also incorporated, with a direct connection to the backyard and pool. In response to the tight site restraints, the addition is positioned to maximize the geometry of the site while providing a counterpoint to the mid-century suburban architecture of the existing home.
