Metropolitan Park | Amazon HQ2, located in Arlington, Virginia’s National Landing District, is a transformative mixed-use project that redefines the community connection between the workplace, retail and the public realm. With two 22-story towers wrapped in iridescent fins and expansive glazing, the development at Metropolitan Park integrates park space, pedestrian walkways and community-serving retail at its base. The buildings total approximately 2M SF of office space, 70,000 SF of retail space and over 2.5 acres of new or renovated public open space.
Nahra served as the Retail Architect on both towers, working with the award-winning design and development teams from the schematic design phase through lease up. Nahra advised on the configuration of retail infrastructure, logistics, storefront & canopy design, ground plane placemaking and other aspects of the base building configuration to be considered when delivering high-value retail space in a complex mixed-use tall building. Additionally, Nahra supported the retail leasing efforts with key tenant test fits, retail design guidelines, demising studies, multiple turnkey Tenant fit-outs, lease plans and other collateral
