For the new corporate office of an influential local development firm it was essential to visually connect and address views within the long and narrow floor plate. This layout encourages staff members to communicate with each other and with the urban views beyond the walls.
At the entry, a focal art wall extends the height of the entry stair, the modern design of which is juxtaposed with the original brick wall of the structure. Unique to this office program is the inclusion of an upscale “rooming unit” akin to an executive hotel suite, allowing for corporate officers or clients to live on-site for a period of time as required during important dealings. All of the spaces are rendered in contemporary, but authentic materials, which heighten the experience of the space.
