WATER STREET TAMPA PHASE I
Location | Tampa, FL
Completed | 2024 (Phase 1)
Size | 98,656 (Retail Phase 1)
Water Street Tampa is a 56-acre mixed-use waterfront development built in an underutilized industrial area immediately adjacent to Garrison Channel and Amalie Arena. It is a dense urban neighborhood designed with purpose, detail and care from the ground up to be an enduring and evolving place. The new neighborhood reconnects the existing Central Business District, cultural destinations and the surrounding areas. An active pedestrian experience is at the heart of the design with smaller development blocks interlaced with plazas, parks and wide, hospitable sidewalks filled with opportunities for outdoor dining and gathering. As the world’s first WELL-certified neighborhood by the International Well Building Institute, this community is designed for people to enjoy year-round.
Nahra served as the Retail Architect for Phase 1, working with the design and development teams from the schematic design phase through lease up. Nahra advised on the configuration of retail infrastructure, logistics, storefront design, ground plane placemaking and other aspects of the base building configuration to be considered when delivering high-value retail space in a complex mixed-use new urban neighborhood. Additionally, Nahra supported the retail leasing efforts with key tenant test fits, retail design guidelines, demising studies, white box fit-outs, lease plans and other collateral. Nahra continues its work at Water Street as the neighborhood matures and moves into subsequent phases.
