Van Dorn Plaza, located in Alexandria VA, is a typical grocery anchored shopping center with a large surface parking field, and a second story office component. Originally built in phases during the late 1970’s, the center has undergone various light renovations over the years. Working closely with the Owner’s development team, Nahra coordinated design improvements to the façade and outdoor areas fronting the lease spaces, with the goal of improving the leaseability of the center and modernizing its use of outdoor space. New landscaping and gathering areas have been incorporated into the existing arcade to create an inviting retail and restaurant environment. Nahra also designed improvements to office common areas and entry.
