McKenzie is an architectural designer with a passion for creating dynamic, inviting spaces. Having worked on a multitude of project sizes, from custom home additions to small and large scale apartment developments, she finds the most excitement ultimately lies in finding the perfect arrangement of components to meet the unique demands of each space.
She received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech. While there, she attended the Steger Center for International Scholarship and received the Nyfeler Award for her studies on the global impact of architecture. She also participated in an alternate thesis program, allowing her to attend the Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center to study more closely the development of architecture over time in an urban environment.
McKenzie is fascinated by the relationship of individuals to architectural space and greatly enjoys considering each unique experience made possible through quality design. She believes that architects have a responsibility to the community we serve to create engaging and enlightening spaces that contribute positively to the overall fabric of our society.
