Sam Bennett brings nearly two decades of architectural leadership to Nahra Design Group as a design & master planning expert. Before joining the firm, she served as a Principal at Cooper Carry, where she led the retail, interiors, and planning studios in the Alexandria, VA office. Her portfolio includes retail, hospitality, residential, adaptive reuse, and government projects; consistently delivering spaces that are innovative, purposeful, and community-focused.

Her design vision has been recognized with multiple awards, to include honors for Birch & Broad and Rosslyn Food Hall (Upside on Moore), both exemplifying her ability to balance client goals with creative solutions. She has also been recognized by ICSC (Innovating Commerce Serving Communities) for her contributions to the evolution of retail and mixed-use design.

Licensed in DC, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Texas, and New York, Sam is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), and ICSC. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Clemson University and a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech.

Outside of her passion for architecture, she finds enjoyment in all things active and outdoors, as well as traveling and spending time with her husband and her Boston Terrier, George.
