Integral to this project is a thermally passive 3,000 bottle wine cellar which is able to maintain optimal temperature and humidity with very little power consumption. An open floor plan and bright new kitchen are also incorporated, with a direct connection to the backyard and pool. In response to the tight site restraints, the addition is positioned to maximize the geometry of the site and enhance the existing mid-century suburban architecture typical of the neighborhood.
